Keynote: DisMis - How Insurers Can Protect Society from the Global Risks of Dis- and Misinformation
Dis- and misinformation have emerged as one of the fastest‑growing global risks, impacting elections, public trust, financial stability, and individual safety. Yet, while its societal consequences are widely discussed, concrete protection mechanisms for individuals remain limited.
In this keynote, Dr. Samyr Mezzour will present DisMis, a cross‑ecosystem initiative of Generali and HITS (the innovation arm of Generali) designed to protect individuals from the harms of dis‑ and misinformation at scale. Bringing together an insurer, disinformation researchers, AI experts, and technology partners, DisMis explores how research, AI, and insurance can be combined to detect, assess, and mitigate disinformation risks before they cause real‑world harm.
The session offers a forward‑looking perspective on how the insurance industry can play an active role in safeguarding trust, resilience, and informed decision‑making in an increasingly complex information landscape.
